Diaz-Balart brings Florida an Additional $448 million for Disaster Relief
WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25 issued the following statement after the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated $448 million to the state of Florida as a part of the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery Program (CDBG-DR).
“There are many families that are still in need of help after the 2018 hurricane season. This funding will support communities along the panhandle and north Florida in their rebuilding and recovery process. As Ranking Member of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee (THUD), I have continuously brought funding to our state in the wake of natural disasters. I remain committed to working with HUD and Secretary Carson to ensure that Florida receives the necessary resources, and I commend Reps. Neal Dunn, John Rutherford, Ted Yoho and Matt Gaetz for their hard work and commitment to their constituents.”
