Diaz-Balart Introduces Resolution Condemning Senator Sanders’ Comments on Castro and Cuba

WASHINGTON, D.C. ­­–– Today, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) introduced a resolution condemning Senator Bernie Sanders’ multiple statements on Fidel Castro and Cuba.

“If anyone wants to know the devastation of socialism and the tyranny that so often accompanies it, I invite them to speak to some of my constituents, including the thousands of former political prisoners and the relatives of current political prisoners, who have witnessed firsthand the destruction that it causes. In contrast with the blatantly false, irresponsible, and hurtful comments of the Castro Regime apologists, this resolution stands in solidarity with the people of Cuba as they struggle against totalitarianism while demanding human rights, democracy, and freedom.”
