Diaz-Balart Introduces Resolution on the 35th Anniversary of U.S. Broadcasts to Cuba
WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart issued the following statement after introducing a resolution to commemorate the 35-year anniversary of U.S. broadcasts to Cuba.
“For thirty-five years, the United States has been providing reliable, outside information to the Cuban people. I applaud the service of dedicated journalists, technical and programming personnel, and other crucial staff at the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB), which administers Radio and TV Marti. The United States’ steadfast commitment to OCB demonstrates our commitment to liberty, democracy, and human rights – all of which can thrive only with access to free and independent media. On the 35th anniversary of U.S. broadcasts to Cuba, I introduce this important resolution to honor the remarkable people of OCB, highlight their crucial mission, and mark their many contributions to the cause of freedom for the Cuban people.”
