Diaz-Balart Named “Friend of Farm Bureau”
IMMOKALEE – Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) received the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award from the Florida Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Federation for his work to support America’s farmers and ranchers. Diaz-Balart, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, secured federal funding to help Florida’s agriculture industry recover after the 2017 hurricane season, which devastated farms, groves, and ranches across the state.
“I am grateful to the Florida Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Federation for this recognition. Florida's farmers, ranchers, and growers are an important part of both our state economy and culture. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure that we protect those who put food on the table for millions of Americans and provide them with the resources they need to continue to flourish.”
