Congressional Friends of Egypt Caucus Co-Chairs Commemorate 100 Years of U.S.- Egypt Diplomatic Relations

April 27, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Representatives Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL-25) and C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD-2), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Friends of Egypt Caucus, released the following statement celebrating the centennial anniversary of the United States-Egypt diplomatic relations.

“As co-chairs of the U.S. House of Representative’s Friends of Egypt Caucus, we recognize 100 years of partnership between the United States and Egypt. This is a partnership built on a shared commitment to peace, stability, and economic growth for both countries.

Our countries have confronted many challenges together, such as the global threat of terrorism and working toward a solution for the Israeli and Palestinian people. For example, decades after the Camp David Accords, we continue to honor that historic agreement with robust contributions to the peace and security of the entire region.

It is our shared hope that Egypt will continue to lead on the world stage and that Egypt and the United States will enjoy another century of partnership and progress to the mutual benefit of the Egyptian and American people.”
