Congressman Diaz-Balart Remembers the Victims of the October 7 Terrorist Attacks

October 7, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), Dean of the Florida Delegation, Vice Chair of the House Committee on Appropriations and Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs, released the following statement remembering the victims of the October 7 terrorist attacks:

"Today, we remember the innocent men, women, and children brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists and honor all those who suffered in that horrific attack. We must unequivocally condemn the murderous terrorism and antisemitic hatred that fueled these atrocities.

There is no justification for the slaughter of families, the taking of hostages, or the terror inflicted upon the people of Israel. October 7 stands as a painful reminder of the threat posed by antisemitism and by those who seek to spread terror and violence.

I stand firmly with the people of Israel and remain steadfast in my support for America’s closest friend and strongest ally. The United States must continue to confront terrorism and antisemitism wherever they arise and stand resolutely against those who seek to spread hatred and violence.

May we continue to remember the victims, stand with the survivors, and ensure that the atrocities of October 7 are never forgotten.”
