Díaz-Balart: NDAA Prioritizes America's National Security while Rejecting Woke Culture Ideology

December 14, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), a senior member of the House Committee on Appropriations, issued the following statement after the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2024:

“The United States confronts its most perilous and intricate strategic challenges in recent times. We must ensure that our brave men and women in the armed forces have the robust resources they need to defend our country, both at home and abroad, and deter our adversaries. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) prioritizes America’s national security by improving U.S. readiness against our enemies, modernizing our forces, and providing staunch allies like Israel and Taiwan with unequivocal American support. Moreover, this bill secures the largest pay raise in 20 years for our men and women in uniform, a Parents’ ‘Bill of Rights’ for military families at Department of Defense schools, and eliminates absurd elements of the woke ideology infiltrating the Pentagon. I remain unwavering in my commitment to ensuring that the U.S. military is prepared and equipped to safeguard our nation against all threats to national security."
