Diaz-Balart: Once Again the Biden Administration has Betrayed Those Seeking Freedom from Tyranny

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) issued the following statement on the Biden Administration's decision to provide additional concessions in the form of sanctions relief to the Maduro regime. 

"Apparently, the Biden Administration is not finished with appeasing the world’s most ruthless dictators. I am appalled that the Biden Administration now is going out of its way to help Maduro and his cronies. Yet today, the Venezuelan people suffer under crushing repression, corruption, state censorship, and human rights abuses, including arbitrary killings, torture, arrests, and imprisonments based on political opinion.

"Secretary Blinken and Secretary Yellen have explicitly stated that the Biden Administration would not only keep current sanctions on the Venezuelan regime but look at ways to strengthen them and impose additional ones. Once again, the Biden Administration has not kept its word and has betrayed those seeking freedom from oppressive, tyrannical dictatorships."
