Diaz-Balart: POTUS partially responsible for Arizona law

April 25, 2012

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court oral arguments on SB 1070, Arizona’s immigration law. Diaz-Balart comments:

“While I strongly disagree with the Arizona law, there is a general consensus that our current immigration system is broken. President Obama promised to tackle immigration reform during his first 12 months as President, three years later Americans feel hopeless and betrayed by the empty promises. President Obama’s failure to deliver on his promises has left states like Arizona to take matters into their own hands. The longer the administration fails to provide leadership on immigration reform, the more likely other states will consider similar legislation.”
