WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-26), the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations and member of the Defense Subcommittee on Appropriations, issued the following statement after the passage of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs funding bill for fiscal year 2026.
“I am proud to have voted in favor of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs funding bill for fiscal year 2026, which provides a nearly $5 billion (3%) increase from fiscal year 2025 that champions our veterans, supports military families, bolsters military readiness, and honors our heroes,” said Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart.
“Additionally, I am thrilled that this bill includes $50 million in critical funding for the Joint Interagency Task Force-South (JIATF-S) in Key West, which serves as our southernmost military bulwark against illegal narcotics, to upgrade its Command and Control facility and enhance its capabilities so that it can continue to execute its critical national security mission.”
