Díaz-Balart Statement on the Biden lmpeachment Inquiry

December 13, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart released the following statement regarding the passage of H. Res. 918, a resolution directing appropriate committees to continue their ongoing investigations into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its constitutional power to impeach Joseph Biden, President of the United States of America:
“Thanks to the meticulous efforts of Chairmen James Comer, Jim Jordan, and Jason Smith, the American people are finally learning the truth about the scandal-plagued Biden family, something the media refuses to investigate and report on. House Republicans are committed to accountability, integrity, and honest government. Investigations by the Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means committees have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s connections to his family’s business dealings as well as allegations of abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption involving funds from foreign adversaries. While this resolution empowers the House to advance the investigation in accordance with its constitutional authority, it does not eliminate the sacred presumption of innocence that the President — and all Americans — enjoy. I believe that we must keep an open mind, follow the evidence, and continue to prioritize transparency, accountability, and rooting out corruption. Only after a thorough investigation may we present our findings to the American people and decide on an appropriate remedy.”
