Diaz-Balart Statement on House Passage of Resolution Denouncing the Horrors of Socialism

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-26) issued the following statement on Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar's (FL-27) resolution, denouncing socialism in all its forms and opposing the implementation of socialist policies in the United States of America. 

"With my strong support, the House passed a resolution today condemning the horrors of socialism and communism. I commend my colleague Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar and the Republican Majority for highlighting the true devastation wreaked by socialism and communism. Recent history has shown that while promising greater equality and "free" services, socialism and communism quickly degenerate into shared misery for all but an elite few. Even worse, socialism and communism crush the human spirit by devaluing individual rights in exchange for what an elite few claim is the common good. 

"We must continue to highlight the evils that have resulted from these failed economic and political systems so that future generations do not fall victim to the false promises that have fooled so many. I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure that these dangerous and ruinous systems never get a foothold here."
