Díaz-Balart Votes for Tax Relief to Support Hurricane-Impacted Communities and Florida's Middle-Class Families
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), a senior member of the House Committee on Appropriations, issued the following statement after the passage of H.R. 7024, Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024.
“I am proud to have supported this bipartisan legislation, which includes a vital provision I cosponsored that extends disaster relief benefits like the enhanced casualty loss tax deduction for individuals living in areas impacted by Hurricanes Ian and Idalia. This bill also champions small businesses and working-class families in Florida by easing regulatory burdens, allowing Americans to retain more of their earnings. Additionally, it strengthens our economy and national security by promoting domestic Research and Development to help U.S. manufacturers and companies invest in new products to compete with China. In the face of current inflation, a consequence of Biden’s failed economic policies, this legislation offers much-needed relief. Americans deserve to safeguard more of their hard-earned tax dollars.”
