Díaz-Balart's Statement on Passage of National Security Supplementals

April 20, 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs of the House Committee on Appropriations, issued the following statement regarding the passage of the critical security supplemental bills:
“As Chairman of the subcommittee that provides funds for national security and foreign assistance priorities, I am very pleased the House passed these important pieces of legislation. The United States must confront the direct national security threats posed by the strategic military troika between our most dangerous adversaries, such as communist China, Russia, and the terrorist State of Iran. Passage of this critical national security legislation makes America and our allies safer as we are denying resources to our adversaries while fully funding our security commitments to support Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, which are confronting existential challenges as they face threats from dangerous, anti-American regimes. Furthermore, passage of this bill protects our brave men and women in the military by ensuring that the United States does not become embroiled in these conflicts."
When America leads with strength rather than appeasement of dangerous dictators, the world is a safer place."
