English/Español: Congressional Latino-Jewish Caucus Co-Chairs Demand Release of all Hostages on Second Anniversary of October 7 Terror Attack
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Latino-Jewish Caucus, Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), and Tony Gonzales (R-TX), issued the following joint statement marking the passage of two years since Hamas’ October 7th terrorist attack:
“As we solemnly mark the second year since the horrifying and evil Hamas terrorist attack against Israelis, we reflect on the lives of the hostages still held in captivity, the families who continue waiting to be reunited with their loved ones, and the memory of the 1,200 lives lost on October 7th, 2023. We remain united in demanding the immediate release of the 48 hostages who remain in captivity today.
“Since that fateful day, we have heard the firsthand accounts of former hostages and their loved ones, like Keith and Aviva Siegel, Iair Horn, Liran Berman, and Ilay David who informed us of the appalling conditions endured, including mental torture and sexual and physical violence. No person should ever suffer such heinous cruelty. We are also deeply concerned with the growing rise of antisemitism affecting Jewish communities here in the United States and around the world.
“We are hopeful that ongoing negotiations will result in an agreement that frees the remaining hostages, living and deceased, and ends the Hamas terror threat. The United States’ unwavering, bipartisan solidarity with our ally Israel will endure.”

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Los copresidentes del Comité Parlamentario Latino-Judío bipartidista del Congreso, los legisladores Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) y Tony Gonzales (R-TX), emitieron la siguiente declaración conjunta al conmemorarse dos años desde el ataque terrorista de Hamas del 7 de octubre:
“Al conmemorar solemnemente el segundo año del horrendo y malvado ataque terrorista de Hamás contra israelíes, reflexionamos sobre las vidas de los rehenes que aún permanecen cautivos, las familias que siguen esperando reunirse con sus seres queridos, y el recuerdo de las 1.200 vidas perdidas el 7 de octubre de 2023. Permanecemos unidos para exigir la liberación inmediata de los 48 rehenes que aún siguen en cautiverio hoy.
“Desde aquel fatídico día, hemos escuchado los relatos de primera mano de ex rehenes y sus seres queridos, como Keith y Aviva Siegel, Iair Horn, Liran Berman e Ilay David, quienes nos han informado sobre las terribles condiciones que padecieron, incluida la tortura mental y la violencia sexual y física. Ninguna persona debería sufrir jamás una crueldad tan atroz.
