English/Español: Congressional Latino-Jewish Caucus Leaders Meet with Families of Remaining Hostages held by Hamas

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Latino-Jewish Caucus Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), Debbie Wasserman Shultz (D-FL), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), and Tony Gonzales (R-TX), issued the following statement after meeting with families and friends of hostages who remain held captive by Hamas:

“Today, as co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Latino-Jewish Caucus, we had the solemn opportunity to meet with families and friends of hostages held in Gaza, many who are dual citizens from Argentina, Colombia, and other Latin American countries, and who are still being held by Hamas terrorists," said the Members. "We were appalled by the horrific stories of October 7 that we heard from the group and the mistreatment suffered by those kidnapped. As Members of Congress, we stand in bipartisan and unwavering solidarity with the hostages and call for their immediate release. With the rise of antisemitism and hate crimes globally, terrorism, sexual violence against women, and over a hundred hostages still held in Gaza, the work to combat these evils is even more urgent. We remain resolved in our commitment to continue our collective efforts to work toward the return and reunification of the hostages with their families."

Líderes del Comité Parlamentario Latino-Judío del Congreso se Reúnen con Familias de los Rehenes que Permanecen en Custodia de Hamas

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Hoy los Copresidentes del Comité Parlamentario Latino-Judío del Congreso Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), y Tony Gonzales (R-TX), emitieron la siguiente declaración después de reunirse con las familias y amigos de los rehenes que siguen siendo cautivos de Hamas:

"Hoy, como copresidentes del Caucus Latino-Judio de la Cámara de Representantes bipartidista, tuvimos la solemne oportunidad de reunirnos con familias y amigos de rehenes detenidos en Gaza, muchos de los cuales son ciudadanos duales de Argentina, Colombia, y otros países latinoamericanos, y que aún son retenidos por terroristas de Hamas", dijeron los miembros. "Nos horrorizaron las historias horrendas de 7 de octubre que escuchamos del grupo y el maltrato sufrido por quienes fueron secuestrados. Como miembros del Congreso, nos mantenemos en solidaridad bipartidista e inquebrantable con los rehenes y exigimos su liberación inmediata. Con el aumento del antisemitismo y los crímenes de odio a nivel mundial, el terrorismo, la violencia sexual contra las mujeres y más de cien rehenes aún detenidos en Gaza, el trabajo para combatir estos males es aún mas urgente. Permanecemos firmes en nuestro compromiso de continuar nuestro trabajo colectivo para lograr el retorno y la reunificación de los rehenes con sus familias."
