MEDIA ADVISORY: Rep. Díaz-Balart Check Presentation for the City of Everglades Pump Stations Rehabilitation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26) is pleased to invite members of the media to attend a special check presentation ceremony tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The event celebrates the funding secured for the repair and rehabilitation to improve the operation and reliability of the pump stations in Everglades City and Carnestown, most of which are in very poor condition with deficiencies ranging from non-operational pumps to extensive corrosion of mechanical equipment. These improvements are needed to avoid sewer overflows and significantly reduce the risk of environmental and ecological damage to surrounding areas.
