MIAMI, FL– Representative Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26) is pleased to invite members of the media to attend the Mother's Day Celebration at the City of Miami's Allapattah Community Action Center. The event, taking place tomorrow, Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., will include special check presentation ceremonies and will recognize Miriam Urra, Executive Director of the Allapattah Community Elderly and Childcare Centers, with a congressional record in honor of Women's History Month.
This celebration marks the funding secured for the Allapattah Community Action renovations, benefitting the Childcare Center and the Elderly Center. The projects encompass structural upgrades and repairs to the interior and exterior of the buildings. Funds will go to the enhancement of communal spaces such as meal prep serving areas, and classrooms with new flooring, lighting, roofing repairs, windows, and more. These projects received funding through the Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2024, which was approved by Congress and signed by the President on March 9th, 2024.
Additionally, Congressman Díaz-Balart will present Miriam Urra with a Congressional Record in honor of Women's History Month, recognizing her exemplary leadership, dedication, and impactful contributions to Allapattah over the years. |
