President can help create new jobs but continues to stall, while blaming Congress
Miami, FL –Today Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) issued the following statement after President Obama, while in Michigan, called on Congress to pass the three pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea.
“Today the President called on Congress to pass the three pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea to help create new jobs. But as the President knows very well, the only reason Congress has not acted on the free trade agreements is because he has consistently refused to send the agreements to Congress for approval. The President has said so himself that these agreements would help create thousands of new jobs, especially here in South Florida. Why is he holding them up and blaming Congress? Congress is ready and willing to pass these free trade agreements if the President would just send them over. The hypocrisy needs to end.”
