Diaz-Balart: More Americans Are Gaining Independence

WASHINGTON ­­– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) issued the following statement regarding the August 2018 jobs report. The U.S. Department of Labor reported the unemployment rate in August was 3.9 percent and the economy added 201,000 jobs.

"This morning's announcement signifies continued growth for our nation's economy. Since January 2017, the unemployment rate has decreased to 3.9 percent and job openings have soared. More Americans are obtaining jobs and gaining independence, pushing themselves out of welfare and poverty. I am proud to work with my House Republican colleagues to further a pro-growth agenda that provides access to opportunities for millions of hardworking people across the United States."
