Diaz-Balart Promotes National Hurricane Preparedness Week
WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) encourages families and individuals to prepare for Hurricane Season. Diaz-Balart promotes National Hurricane Preparedness Week, which began on May 22 and runs through May 28. Hurricane Season starts next Wednesday, June 1.
“As our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Joplin, Missouri; I encourage all to take the necessary steps to prepare for such a disaster. Each year, Florida faces the threat that Hurricane season brings, and it is one that cannot be taken lightly. It is imperative that we take the proper measures to secure our families, businesses, and communities.
“I remain hopeful that our communities will be spared from a serious storm, but we must nonetheless be prepared to reduce the effects of a natural disaster,” said Diaz-Balart.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) kicked off their annual National Hurricane Preparedness Week to create awareness leading up to the start of the season. To learn more, please visit the links provided below.
