Diaz-Balart Promotes National Hurricane Preparedness Week
WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) encourages families and individuals to prepare for Hurricane Season. Diaz-Balart promotes National Hurricane Preparedness Week, which begins on May 27 and runs through June 2. Hurricane Season starts next Friday, June 1.
“The Hurricane Season of 2012 is upon us, and as Floridians, we know this is something that should not be taken lightly. I remain hopeful that our communities will be spared from a serious storm, but we must nonetheless be prepared to reduce the effects of a natural disaster,” said Diaz-Balart.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) kicked off their annual National Hurricane Preparedness Week to create awareness leading up to the start of the season.
