Diaz-Balart Promotes National Hurricane Preparedness Week
2013 Hurricane Season starts June 1
WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) encourages families and individuals to prepare for Hurricane Season. Diaz-Balart promotes National Hurricane Preparedness Week, which begins on May 26 and runs through June 1. Hurricane Season starts next Saturday, June 1.
“With the start of another Hurricane Season, Florida and other coastal states in the U.S. face the threat of these natural disasters. National Hurricane Preparedness Week is a great opportunity to begin taking the steps to ready ourselves against Mother Nature. With the appropriate measures, we can reduce the effects that hurricanes can have on our communities, homes, and families, Diaz-Balart said.”
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) kicked off their annual National Hurricane Preparedness Week to create awareness leading up to the start of the season.
