"On May 20, 1902, the Cuban nation achieved its independence. Tragically, today the Cuban people are subject to a brutal dictatorship that has oppressed them for 60 years. In fact, the Cuban regime continues to spread its malevolence throughout our hemisphere, and now also directs the oppression of the Venezuelan people.
