WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart led a letter to President Biden urging him to stand firmly with the Cuban people by placing democracy and human rights at the forefront of the administration’s approach. The letter also asks that the Biden Administration lead a coordinated, global effort of democratic allies and multilateral organizations to support the Cuban people as they attempt to rid themselves of the scourge of communist tyranny by an illegitimate dictatorship that has plagued them for six decades.

WASHINGTON, D.C.­­–– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) granted Miami-Dade County $4.8 million for the Low and No Emission Vehicle Grant Program. Diaz-Balart is the Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, which funds this grant program for state and local governments under DOT.

Officer Julian Keen, Jr. was fatally shot and killed in LaBelle, Florida, on June 14th, 2020, while attempting to stop a hit-and-run suspect while off-duty.
